let me wake in loving arms,
let me live, full with love,
make peace where peace is to be made,
make me whole,
no souls left alone.

Let me slip into dreamless sleep
and wake me with loving arms,
show me life’s fruit,
my happiness will surely ooze,
spilling over the edges of my life,
cascading into others.

Let me disappear,
and send me him one last time,
let me wake, one final time
in the arms of my lover,
feeling safe and loved
once more.

Just once more…

rolling waves of flashbacks;
the nights dreams
all the wonder and delight
rolled into one sleep
and I sigh
wishing it could be so much more
than a dream.
