Notebook MB
February 21st, 2008 by Olivia
Recently I’ve been doing much more writing than I normally do - by this I mean, I’ve been writing several pieces a day.
The biggest thing I have with my writing is, I love feedback and I love sharing my writing with others… I especially like seeing/hearing how the reader reacts to my poem(s), if they get emotional over it or find any emotion in it at all then I feel extremely happy because I feel like I’ve done something worth while.
Because I’ve been writing so much lately I began to find I was getting stuck - I didn’t really have anyone to share all of my pieces with, or if I did it wasn’t the right sort of person… by that I mean, they weren’t able to give me constructive criticism when I needed it and so forth. I’m sure you all know what I mean.
So, a light bulb went off in my head. Why not create my own Message Board? The perfect solution. I already have a graphic related one - so why not a literature one as well? I couldn’t see a reason why I shouldn’t and so with my sister, Rosanna’s help it’s finally open!

Black Ink referred you!
I hope to see you there :)

Against The Clock - Printing!
December 19th, 2007 by Olivia
Current Mood:
Esctatic
The final version of ‘Against the Clock’ was emailed to me the other day… it’s been sent to the printers and I should have a copy of it either just before Christmas or between Christmas and the New Year.
I’m extremely pleased, the feeling of having achieved something, even though it’s minute and only a few of my pieces are being published I’m still extremely pleased. I’m definitely chuffed that some of my stuff is going to be published but I’m also really pleased that it was for a good cause.
A snip it from Against The Clock will probably explain things better than I can.
On Friday 12th October 2007, sixteen members of The Grail Internet writing group – plus one couple’s two children – spent many of the hours between noon and midnight writing as many stories and poems as possible, based on 100 prompts posted that morning.
This followed a period of sponsor-seeking via the new-fangled (‘Just Giving’ websites)
and the old-fashioned (pen and paper) methods that ultimately raised over £3,000 in donations for this year’s selected charity, The Alzheimer’s Society.
Full information on the effects of Alzheimer’s, and other forms of dementia, is available on the charity’s website at:
This Collection, chosen from the 269 stories and poems written in that 12-hour writing marathon, is dedicated to all those lost to, or suffering from, Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia.
The book is only small, about 100 pages but it’s filled with some really beautiful writing.
8 pieces of my poetry is in Against The Clock. I have just added them to Escaped Emotions, click the links below to read them.
1. Forget all I want to Remember
2. Lost In Thoughts
3. Left to pick up the Pieces
4. Stare Future in the Eyes
5. Fading Memories
6. Pull Me In
7. Sleepless Night
8. Waiting for a Beginning
Happy Holidays!
With love,
Olivia
