The Monster

Posted on 03. Feb, 2010 by Olivia Bell in Uncategorized Poetry

It creeps out of dark corners
it slithers into view
it crawls into my head
it slides beneath my radar–
this monster, it coaxes me
it unravels me, entices me–
you are the monster,
you are the creeper,
slithering, crawling,
unraveling, enticing–
you are the burning in my body,
you are the monster in my head,
you are the taunting in my bed–
you are the monster
who taunts [...]

Blurred and Slurred

Posted on 16. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Uncategorized Poetry

Yawns come closer
together,
watery eyes begin to
appear,
the odd shiver here and
there,
tiredness creeps in.
Head hits the pillow,
tucked up,
curled in a ball,
sleep time.
Dreams come and go
and suddenly the
phone rings,
creating a huge racket,
groaning, sleepy eyed
she answers it,
a rough and sleepy ‘hello’,
slurred words returned,
a tumble of drunken ramble,
short, curt harsh words
uttered.
Drunken idiot,
slurring words,
blurting out all sorts,
no excuse.

He Dances

Posted on 13. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Uncategorized Poetry

Vividly he dances
when her eyes are closed,
echos float soothingly
and sigh, she does
happy she is.
But wait;
she stirs,
she wakes,
eyes flutter open
and echos float away
dancing still, slowly fading.
A moment,
small enough to forget
long enough to cherish,
a sweet reminder
of the past and
the fight to be true,
stronger alone,
weaker is he
longing for anything,
stronger is she
waiting for more.

Puppet

Posted on 10. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Dark Poems

I am here again,
the same time,
a different day,
just another one;
my body aches
from head to toe,
nothing eases the pressure,
only sleep, the sleep I fear.
with an aching body,
I bravely succumb yet again,
to the sleep I fear,
I fail to resist;
you’re calling me in my sleep,
I lash out, kicking, tossing, turning,
muttering words no one can decipher;
you’re real, I am [...]

Depths of Slumber

Posted on 08. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Dreams

Let me slip into the depths of slumber,
let me wake in loving arms,
let me live, full with love,
make peace where peace is to be made,
make me whole,
no souls left alone.
Let me slip into dreamless sleep
and wake me with loving arms,
show me life’s fruit,
my happiness will surely ooze,
spilling over the edges of my life,
cascading into others.
Let [...]

Electric Temptation

Posted on 08. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Temptation

Our bodies,
dance around each other;
a gentle brush of the hand,
a graze of the shoulder,
warm breath on the cheek,
the skimming of thighs;
it’s electric.
Senses on red alert,
too close,
too far away,
forbidden ground;
a touch too many,
a smile too big,
eyes lock, dead on;
frisson electrifies the chilly air,
sparks ignite,
aroused desires,
temptation heightened,
silent words cut the air
“forbidden”.
Exhaling frustratedly,
forcing an end,
cutting the air with [...]

Just a Dream

Posted on 08. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Dreams

Light wakes me,
unwillingly I open my eyes,
in the far distance I see reality,
close up I see dreams,
rolling waves of flashbacks;
the nights dreams
all the wonder and delight
rolled into one sleep
and I sigh
wishing it could be so much more
than a dream.
