120MPH

120MPH

Racing down this road
at 120mph
we’re speeding through time,
faces blur, words slur
forgotten days, forgotten weeks;
we’re speeding through time
at 120mph
I hope we don’t get caught
by the blue flashing light;
we’re speeding through time
at 120mph
just you and I in the front seat
touching now and then;
we’re speeding, we’re flying
we’re defying the rules,
until you throw this car
into full reverse;
we’re back, back [...]

A Soldier

Posted on 03. Feb, 2010 by Olivia Bell in Uncategorized Poetry

I feel alone, small and fragile,
my red hot salty tears drip,
drip, drip, drip
from my eyelids
down my cheeks
past my parted lips
trickling over my jawbone,
disappearing–
I am alone, delicate and broken,
my old, once red hot tears
have fallen, like brave soldiers–
I am afraid, afraid of solitude,
unaccompanied like those buried
deep beneath the soil we walk upon–
I am terrified, frightened and [...]

Night of My Life

Posted on 24. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Uncategorized Poetry

Oh bright stars,
won’t you shine tonight
while we dance under your gaze,
hands entwined.
Oh magnificent Moon,
won’t you be full tonight
while we gaze into each others eyes
under your joyful light.
Oh whispering winds,
won’t you hush hush tonight
while we dance to your
gentle graceful tune.
Oh rainy clouds,
won’t you stay away for a while
and rain on us, as our night ends
so we [...]

Back in Time

Weak winter light
seeps into my room,
the twitter of december birds
wake me on a cold morning,
a blanket of white frost reminds me
of the cold bitterness that awaits me.
Snuggling beneath the covers I close my eyes
and remember yesterday,
the joy and laughter,
the lightness and warmness
and gentleness I received.
I squeeze my eyes tightly, eliminating light
and I live in the [...]

Vicious Circle

Posted on 12. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Uncategorized Poetry

Tight arms wrap me up warmly,
lips pressed firmly to my mouth
gesturing for a return
I echo the movements;
arms entwine,
gently moving lips
to an unspoken rhythm.
It’s nice.
He leans in closer,
grazing his lips to my cheek,
trailing along my jawbone
nearing the skin below my ear;
he inhales.
It’s odd.
Hands shift to the small of my back;
roaming lower,
smacking and squeezing me,
my roundly shaped [...]

Nothing.

Posted on 11. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Dark Poems

The tap drips;
echo, echo, echo,
drip, drip, drip,
it doesn’t stop, there is no end -
the flood gate opened and
so the tap drips;
drip, drip, drip.
My wide eyes water
and spill silently;
at least they don’t echo
like the water flowing from the tap.
They roll cautiously down my porcelain cheeks
and drift, drift, drift away
to be forgotten – to be lost.
My heart [...]
