Forced to Leave

Posted on 18. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Uncategorized Poetry

Slowly, quietly, I’m forced to leave.
My back turned, head bowed, slowly I’m leaving…
They all say I must leave, so why is my heart whispering,
Telling me they’re wrong?
The car is racing down the road,
landscape whizzing pass me; it’s all a blur;
such a vast land,
so many places,
so many people
and so many faces,
but it’s yours that I miss.
I [...]

Back in Time

Posted on 18. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Uncategorized Poetry

Weak winter light
seeps into my room,
the twitter of december birds
wake me on a cold morning,
a blanket of white frost reminds me
of the cold bitterness that awaits me.
Snuggling beneath the covers I close my eyes
and remember yesterday,
the joy and laughter,
the lightness and warmness
and gentleness I received.
I squeeze my eyes tightly, eliminating light
and I live in the [...]

Flames

Posted on 18. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Dark Poems

They twist and turn,
vicious and lovely,
they play,
and then they die;
but just as you breathe
air into them
at long last, they live;
red and orange,
sometimes yellow,
burning away;
fierce and strong,
don’t touch
you’ll burn.
They entrance me,
their warmth calls me,
breaking away the poorly stitched heart,
burning the thin thread,
pulling at the edges,
tearing at my heart,
forcing me to;
unravel and spin out of control,
as a [...]

Hello Again…

Posted on 17. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Uncategorized Poetry

Hello again,
it’s been so long,
I had almost forgotten you
I had almost forgotten us,
faded memories… that’s all we are.
Hello again,
I’m in the dark,
I’m searching for the words we used to speak,
I’m unsure what this is all about…
I’m tripping over unexpected things
help me out, I know it’s been awhile
but we were always so good
so good at knowing [...]

Let Go, Let Go

Posted on 11. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Uncategorized Poetry

You and I
we made our choices,
together we decided
without really knowing
what tomorrow would bring.
Together we decided
alone we ended,
time to depart,
let go, let go,
don’t cling to my finger tips,
please don’t whisper to me
in the dreams I have of you,
let go, let go
kiss my cheek,
and turn your back on me.
Just like you decided to.

What Once Was Mine

Posted on 09. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Romantic Poetry, Temptation

He stands with me,
near me, so near me…
mere feet away,
with the grace of
normality…
His body language,
warm and charming,
exuberant and welcoming.
His crew cut,
always the same,
never long enough to play with,
to dive into.
His deep white smile,
forever warm and cheeky,
unchanged.
His deep, soft voice
a familiar tune,
effortlessly outdoing
any voice, any sound in the room.
His sculptured body,
hard and strong,
soft and gentle,
mine;
all mine.
I [...]

A Shadow

Posted on 08. Nov, 2009 by Olivia Bell in Romantic Poetry

I’m not much without you,
a shadow of what could be,
half a smile,
insincere laughter.
Dreams without desire,
summer without the sun,
nights without stars,
trees without the birds and leaves,
I am empty and bare.
Fill me up full,
no longer half empty,
make me whole,
full and complete,
satisfy me…
I’m very little without you,
a should of what could be,
one half, a distant memory,
half a person,
half [...]
